Lead Program Manager – TechOps Field Safety and Investigations

<strong>How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview & Key Responsibilities)<br><br></strong>Technical Operations (TechOps) is seeking a candidate who has aircraft maintenance, human factors and occupational safety experience, proven leadership skills, and possesses a high level of accountability for achieving strategic and operational results. The successful candidate will work with a cross-departmental team with a broad scope of responsibility in a complex environment. In addition, they should have the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization.<br><br>This position will report directly to the Manager, TechOps Field Safety & Investigations and is based in Atlanta.<br><br><strong>Summary Of Responsibilities (not Comprehensive Of All Tasks)<br><br></strong><ul><li>Partners with TechOps business units to implement the human performance strategy to reduce the probability and severity of human error associated with maintenance tasks.</li><li>Partners with and supports TechOps business units to execute the safety strategy to reduce occupational safety risk associated with maintenance tasks.</li><li>Builds relationships with TechOps business unit managers to understand their needs and help determine strategic projects to drive safety improvements and risk reduction initiatives.</li><li>Coordinates with the TechOps Safety, Security and Environmental Compliance team to simplify programs and processes that will improve the effectiveness of occupational safety, environmental compliance, security and human factors.</li><li>Leads a team of Field Safety Program Leaders & Program Managers that provide regional support to the TechOps maintenance & support business units.</li><li>Leads a team that is responsible for near miss, injury and damage investigations and communication of lessons learned.</li><li>Leads a team that completes field safety visits to ensure compliance with occupational safety and environmental programs.</li><li>Manages the Operations Safety Leader and Safety Representative program, including selection, training and oversight.</li><li>Utilizes data to determine where focused improvement efforts are needed and makes decisions on actions that need to be taken to better support frontline leaders and the workforce.</li><li>Teaches and coaches business unit managers and frontline leaders on safety leadership essential behaviors.</li><li>Serves as a change agent to develop new actions and programs to improve human performance.</li><li>Oversees the implementation of tools, processes and programs designed to reduce human error in their assigned area of responsibility.</li><li>Develops both strategic & tactical plans for Field Safety based on operational and departmental need.<br><br></li></ul><strong>What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)<br><br></strong><ul><li>Must possess Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe & Powerplant certificate </li><li>Must have technical experience in aircraft, component, line, base and/or engine maintenance. </li><li>Strong analytical skills along with a technical background in aviation maintenance practices, organization, and procedures. </li><li>Candidates must possess five plus years of working knowledge of SMS </li><li>Ten plus years of experience in a highly technical or analytical role in aviation safety investigations or within aircraft maintenance </li><li>Must have experience in developing business cases for safety and human factors initiatives. </li><li>Strong process and project management skills required. </li><li>Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and orderliness in performing work assignments. </li><li>Ability to write technical information in easily understood terms and influence and drive change at all levels of the organization. </li><li>Must be a creative and innovative problem solver as well as a highly motivated, self-directed change agent. </li><li>Demonstrated leadership experience in managing complex processes within cross-functional teams required. </li><li>Must be able to manage and execute multiple priorities in a timely manner. </li><li>Must have strong communication, relationship building and influencing skills to effectively communicate with all levels from front line to senior executives. </li><li>Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite </li><li>Undergraduate degree in a related field or five years of management experience </li><li>(If transferring internally) Must be performing satisfactorily in current position. </li><li>Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. </li><li>Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. </li><li>Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. </li><li>Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States. <br><br></li></ul><strong>What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)<br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in a related field<br><br></li></ul><strong>Benefits And Perks To Help You Keep Climbing<br><br></strong>Our culture is rooted in a shared dedication to living our values – Care, Integrity, Resilience and Servant Leadership – every day, in everything we do.
